The Black Prince is a patented 10 acre claim sitting just below Sheepshead that has been in the same family for 60 years. There's an A-frame cabin on the property that sits on the edge of some dark timber with both a creek to the north and a pristine stream to the south. The cabin was built in the late 60s or early 70's and was designed by an architectural firm out of Stillwater OK. The construction crew was actually led by the world renowned structural engineer, Louis O. Bass, who designed the roof of the Houston Astrodome. The cabin today is in need of some TLC + repairs but it is far from a tear down. This is a phenomenal hunting property where you can literally walk out the backdoor to fill your mule deer or elk tag every year. Hunting aside, the snowmobiling and sled-skiing in this area is as good as you will find in the lower 48, and with the fishing on the Conejos River and Platoro Reservoir just a few miles to the south, you truly can't beat this location as far as an all seasons adventure outpost goes.
