Property Description
Welcome to the White Pine Mining Enclave — a truly one-of-a-kind Colorado mountain property with a story that spans generations. For the first time since World War II, this remarkable property is being offered to the market. Held by the same family for generations, the White Pine Mining Enclave presents a rare opportunity to own a substantial high-country recreational property designed for family, hunting, adventure, and the next generation. Encompassing approximately 146 acres, this unique offering is a conglomeration of historic mining claims being sold together as one large parcel. The property is tucked away behind two separate locked gates, creating an exceptional level of privacy and seclusion rarely found in a property of this size and scale. Surrounded by National Forest, the setting offers the ultimate Colorado mountain escape. Located at approximately 10,300 feet, the property features an incredibly diverse landscape of mountain creeks and drainages, mature pine and aspen forests, open areas, and beautiful high-elevation views. From exploring the forests and drainages to following the network of roads throughout the property, there is an incredible amount of terrain to experience. At the heart of the property is the original air compressor shed from the area's mining days, which has been thoughtfully renovated into an incredibly unique mountain cabin. Built with durability in mind, the structure features a concrete floor, extensive metal construction, and steel window coverings, giving it the character and strength of a high-country bunker while still functioning as a one-of-a-kind mountain retreat. It is a remarkable piece of the property's history and a structure built to stand for generations to come. A network of roads winds throughout the property, providing exceptional access to the various parcels and making this an especially attractive recreational and hunting property. Whether you're looking to hunt, hike, explore by side-by-side, mountain bike, or simply spend time in the mountains with family and friends, the White Pine Mining Enclave offers an incredible amount of terrain to explore. The property enjoys seasonal access and is located just outside the historic mining town of Whitepine, Colorado. The small town of Sargents is approximately 15 minutes away, offering fuel, a general store, and dining. Gunnison is approximately 45 minutes away, while a drive over Monarch Pass brings you to Poncha Springs and Salida for additional shopping, dining, and services. Properties of this scale, character, history, and recreational appeal rarely become available — particularly after being held within the same family for more than 80 years. The combination of 146± acres, National Forest surroundings, two locked gates, historic mining history, private roads, a unique high-country cabin, and exceptional hunting and recreational opportunities makes this an extraordinarily rare offering. If you've been searching for a private Colorado mountain family compound where generations can gather, hunt, explore, and create memories for years to come, the White Pine Mining Enclave is the one. This is more than a piece of Colorado history. It's a legacy waiting for its next generation.
